Moving your studio from Mindbody
Bring your people, class packs, memberships, and history across from Mindbody — then choose exactly what goes live before anything is charged.
Switching to Atelier Studio from Mindbody doesn’t mean starting from scratch. You export a handful of reports from Mindbody, drop them in, and we bring your people, your class packs and memberships, and your history across. Nothing goes live — and nobody is charged or emailed — until you review it and say so.
You’ll find this under Administration → Data Tools → Import. Choose Mindbody as your source to begin.
Step 1 — Export your reports from Mindbody
In Mindbody, export these reports (a spreadsheet export is perfect). You don’t need to rename or tidy them — we recognize each one for you:
- Your client list — the people you serve.
- Your pricing options and contracts — your class packs and memberships, and how much of each is left.
- Your autopay detail — your recurring memberships.
- Your attendance history — who visited, and for what.
- Your sales history — what people have paid you.
Put them all in one folder. Extra files are fine — we’ll tell you what each one is and skip anything we don’t need.
Step 2 — Upload the folder
Drop the whole folder onto the Import screen, or choose the files. A progress bar shows each file as it uploads, and then we identify what each report is. If we’re unsure about a file, you can tell us — nothing is saved yet.
Step 3 — Review what comes across
This is the important part, and it’s yours to decide. Your people come across first. Then, for every class type, class pack, and membership we found, you choose one of two things:
- Keep — make it live in Atelier Studio. You set a price and choose whether it shows on your booking page.
- Remove — hide it. Removing never deletes anything: the record stays for your history and your past reports stay accurate, it just doesn’t clutter your live screens.
When you Keep a class pack or membership, two more choices appear:
- Bring over unused balances — if a customer still has classes or credits left, let them use those in Atelier Studio. This is on by default. Turn it off if you’re running both systems side by side for a while and don’t want those balances honored here yet.
- Start billing on (memberships) — the date Atelier Studio takes the first auto-renewal charge. Pick your Mindbody cut-off date so no one is ever charged twice. Leave it blank to keep members active without billing them yet — you can turn billing on later.
Step 4 — Your history comes with you
A migration isn’t much use if half the story is left behind, so your history comes too:
- Past purchases land as payments dated to when they happened, so they show up in your revenue reports and on each customer’s payment history.
- Past visits appear on each customer’s profile as a read-only record of what they attended, kept separate from live bookings.
